Grace (bp coyle)

Sure. Your Granny was a wonderful woman. A great mother to our kids. A great grandmother to you and the rest. She was my friend. My best friend. I suppose I should not be telling you this, I have kept it secret for so many years. But now that she is gone and my own days are numbered, it is a story I want to tell once before I go. To say it all out loud.

There was another. We met just after your Dad was born. I was still young back then, I know that must be hard to believe. I guess your Granddad has always seemed ancient to you.

However, it is true, I was young and not so bad looking. If you got your hair cut and shaved you might have a trace of my looks. On a good day.

Ha! The old man can still get a smile out of you.

What was I saying? Completely lost my train of thought.

Oh yeah, Grace, God she was a beauty. So full of life. So wild and reckless.

I guess some things aren’t meant to be.

Maybe in a different universe…

What were we talking about?
