Love Letters Straight From the Heart (bp coyle)

‘Hey, how was your day? Mine sucked but nothing a large glass of wine won’t sort out.’

‘Can you sit down for a second? We need to talk.’

‘Of course. You sound very serious, what’s up?’

‘My mother always said that you should never write anything down if you don’t want the world to know about it.’

‘O-kay. That’s an interesting bit of worldly wisdom. Thanks for sharing. Do you mind if I get that wine now?’

‘I found your letters.’

‘Letter?’

‘Yeah. The ones from Jeff?’

‘Oh God.’

’I wasn’t being nosy. I was just tidying the bedroom and they fell out of the drawer. You really didn’t hide them all that well.’

‘You read them?’

‘Yeah.’

‘I should have burned them.’

‘You should have. Or not, I don’t know. I skipped over the more intimate parts but I think I get the gist of your… friendship.’

‘Shit.’

‘It seems like you said some not so flattering things about me. About us.’

‘Sorry. I don’t know what to say.’

‘Well, probably best that you say whatever you have to say to Jeff. I packed your bags.’

‘Can’t we…’

‘I called you a cab.’
