Mid-Life Crisis (bp coyle)

‘Mom, I’m really worried about Harry. I think he might be going through some sort of mid-life crisis.’

‘Men! They’re all the same. And he is at that age. Your father got a hairpiece on the day he turned forty five. It was pathetic. What’s your Harry gone and done?’

‘He bought himself a motorcycle. A big ass, scary looking thing.’

‘Oh dear. That’s an extreme case.’

‘Yeah and the whole outfit to go with it. All that leather stuff. It’s so dangerous.’

‘It is.’

‘And he looks like an idiot.’

‘Hmmm… He just wants to feel young again honey. He’ll grow out of it in a couple of years and accept his fate like the rest of us have to.’

‘A couple of years? I’m worried he might find a younger woman.’

‘Oh honey, Harry’s a nice man and a good father but he’s no looker.’

‘Mom!’

‘I’m just saying honey. He’s not funny or charming and God knows, he’s not exactly rich.’

‘Geez Mom. You don’t think much of him, do you?’

‘Well, I don’t think he’s going to be turning the head of any young thing.’

‘Thanks for that Mom. I feel much better now.’
