Matches will now frequently pause for several minutes while the referee and his assistants holds their hands to their ears and look determined but utterly confused. And the player can have that real life experience of not having a clue of what is going on. Just like the managers and players and fans at a real life game, except from the comfort of their own homes.
The makers of the game have also promised that the decisions made by VAR will be unreliable, controversial and frequently incorrect. Exactly like real life.
Responding to the announcement in a tweet this evening, former head of FIFA Seth Blather blasted the news and declared that it will ultimately lead to the ruin of the game.
So put those goal celebrations on hold. Go brew some coffee, take a shower, have a stroll around the block. This is going to take a while.
